Junior Public Accountant

Junior accountants are tasked with performing accounting functions for audits, reviews and compilations. Responsibilities include planning procedures related to the engagement, internal control testing and evaluation, analyzing and verifying financial accounts, conducting audit tests, various review and compilation procedures, preparing client communications, analyzing bank statement reconciliations, posting journal entries, maintaining fixed asset schedules, performing expense analysis, assisting with the preparation of financial statements and engagement report, and federal and state income tax return preparation for all types of entities. In most cases, a junior accountant will work under the direction of a senior accountant or manager. Senior Public Accountant
Responsible for engagement program and checklist approval, working papers review before submission to a Manger or Partner, financial statement review, day-to-day client relationships, training, supervising and evaluation of Junior accountants. Other responsibilities include participating in all phases of engagement management for multiple clients; plan, execute and complete attestation engagements in a wide variety of industries; understand and manage risk on audits; work closely with clients to meet or exceed expectations; lead and guide projects on a timely basis; and federal and state income tax return review for all types of entities This position requires excellent engagement management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, strong leadership, training and mentoring skills, professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude. Candidates should be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines; be dedicated to superior client service; have strong organizational skills and attention to detail; and ensure work meets professional standards of quality. Public Tax Accountant

Tax accountants are tasked with federal and state income tax return preparation for all types of entities, preparing estimated federal and state income tax payments, prepare workpapers for various book to tax differences, prepare the income tax provision, tax research projects, assist in tax planning and analysis, and prepare other various tax filings and projects as they arise. Tax accountants are expected to maintain required level of technical knowledge and keep abreast of current developments in the tax area. Public Tax Senior/Manager

Tax seniors/managers should possess strong communication and analytical skills. They also are expected to stay up to date with industry and IRS tax regulations. A tax manager’s responsibilities would include reviewing corporate, passthrough, individual, non-profit and fiduciary tax returns for completeness and accuracy, tax research and planning with regards to current tax impact of proposed entity activities and transactions, implementing strategies to minimize entity tax liability in accordance with current tax laws, recommend tax strategies by researching federal and state taxation issues to minimize tax payments, complete required tax reporting in a timely manner, review tax provision schedules, research the basis for tax positions to be taken, advise clients of the tax impact of tax strategies.
